I feel the chaos. If life is a river, one side is chaos & the other rigidity, where do we want to be? Happily cruising in a Gondola down the middle of a Venician canal I guess? Meanwhile I think my river flows a little more to chaos somedays or other days the water shifts & I’m caught up in rigidity. Fuck. Maybe a trip to Venice is calling!
I think you’ll be an excellent dad through the teenage years Paul, look how hard you’ve worked & keep on working. Mali & I will undoubtedly benefit from your wisdoms in that time too & we are grateful you’re in our circle. Big love x
Meanwhile, I'm sat here trying to pile my foundations daily.
Learning to float is dreamy, but I feel I have a factor of time further piling first.
Perhaps that's just because I imagine the psychological manifestation of piling as hard, stress-inducing work. Perhaps the floater works hard to float.
I hope you go. I like the way you phrased "I would like to see it and then find out what happens when I see it."
This is the truth of experience and brains right? We arrive in new environments and they impact our wiring. We have a different brain after it's been dipped in new places.
Like those old anti-drug campaigns where an egg is cracked into a pan to sizzle - This is your brain on Venice.
Our brain can't be Veniced without being immersed in Venice. It's not something that can happen vicariously.
Thanks Paul. Made it to England. Closer to your land. Getting into the culture here now. Big jump from The Greeks … now…Mystical Avalon. Learned some things already. I'll try get some of it intertwined into my style…if(when) I get something wrong, don't hesitate to fix it up…Beltane, for example = comes from Irish Celtic, Beyal tin ah (phonetics attempt)
I don't know about Britain pronunciation - we say Bel tain - but you'll know more than 99% of the people you'll meet. Locals rarely know their own history.
All Celtic culture is enmeshed. I think the divisions only really exist so that modern historians and linguists can ply their trade.
M spotted the swan couple at the Shore last week, while the mama was still curled up in the sun warming up her eggs. I was struck by their enormous, stable nest which looked like it was made up entirely of twigs. How there was no way I could ever construct anything half as secure with my bare hands, even with human tools. I imagined them paddling up and down Water of Leith, gathering, gathering, just to make that thing. Full of admiration at what nature/parents can do.
We all do our best with what we have, don't we? Especially for those funny offspring of ours. That's all we can do.

Oi, get your mind out the gutter! 💩
I enjoy reading your ranged scope of depth immersed into your narration.
Haven't been to Venice, although I would like to see it and then find out what happens when I see it.
Cool you got there. Nice insights here.
Thanks Paul

Thank you for bringing the thinking. 🙏

Understood. Why I'm a bit cautious before writing certain things up. Thanks for the insight.
Honestly though as long as you're trying no one will mind.
