The woman, the gull and the hill make a scalene triangle I think. I wasn't entirely sure so I googled for help. I don't remember this one from school. It was all equilateral, right angle and isosceles wasn't it?
Three sides and three angles each one different. No equals.
Sunrise is like that. Each one unique. No equals. Living with a view of the natural world reminds us that the universe is in constant flux and as constituent parts of the universe we too are in constant flux. Obvs.
The Buddhists call this both Amitya and Anatma (sp?), referring to impermanence and change in both life and self respectively.
Scottish weather is also a useful teacher; if you don't like it just wait five minutes. Constant change. Patience. Endurance. Fortitude.
Sometimes lessons sound impressive, other times they're short bread tin, tourist souvenir trite and cheesy. But lessons are lessons I think and we shouldn't close ourselves off from any of them.
Thinking a lot about edges and boundaries recently. It's important to know where they are but not so as to stay back. They tell us where discomfort begins. We can choose to push past, explore beyond our perimeter fence. Be daring. And that's where adventure lies.
Do change and growth only happen beyond our boundaries? I don't know.
